<BiographicalNote textformat="02" language="eng"><p>Philippe J. Denis has been researching and teaching the English language and American culture at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) since 1993. In America, he lived out his passion as a CODOFIL teacher and soccer coach in New Orleans, Louisiana. On the road, he has so far experienced life in 16 states, some for months, some for hours. He has also been blessed to travel through stories by his most trusted circle of native friends.<br /> Straddling the ocean between UCLouvain and Clemson University, South Carolina, he designed and co-directed a French language immersion program for five years, teaching a comparative civilization course to combine the best of two worlds. His career-long teaching of an American Perspectives course to eager MA students has inspired and informed the writing of this book.</p></BiographicalNote>
