Forty years ago, the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert became home to Université catholique de Louvain, and together they developed infrastructures, housing, shops, schools, offices, green spaces and underground stations, in addition to a large university hospital. An entire area of Brussels, both urban and rural, rose from the ground and was filled with life.
Over the years, at the joint impetus of planners as well as political and academic decisionmakers,
art made itself seen in the city – in squares, in streets, on houses, in gardens and in parks. This little guide takes the reader through the different neighbourhoods, where the works of well-known and anonymous artists contribute to making Woluwe-Saint-Lambert a particularly rich and diverse artistic space.
